BOARD OF WATER COMMISSIONERS MEETING JULY 20, 2011
Members Present: Mr. Joseph Duffy, Mr. Bruce Young, Mr. Mike Chernicki. Absent with notice: Mr. Douglas Ficks, Mrs. Mary Lou Sutter.
Also Present: Mr. Neal Merritt, Water Supt.
SUBJECT: Superintendent’s Report-Sanitary Survey was done by Department of Environmental Protection. It’s done every three years. No deficiencies were found.
A plan for scheduled maintenance of our wells is presently in the works. It will start with a detailed survey of our wells by Maher Services of North Reading, MA to assess the condition of the department’s four wells.
Neal also reviewed Well#1 station upgrade. He reviewed the various problems over the past few years with this well; and the limited information available through SCADA. Jeff Diercks from Camp Dresser & McKee will prepare a course of recommended action for the Board.
SUBJECT: Articles-the deadline for articles for October Town Meeting is August 19, 2011.
Board signed the SCADA maintenance agreement.
The Commission reviewed the minutes for July 6, 2011 both Regular & Executive session. Motion by Mr. Bruce Young to accept the minutes of July 6, 2011 Regular and Executive session as typed. Seconded by Mr. Mike Chernicki. Executive session to remain confidential. Vote was 3-0 in favor.
Next meetings are scheduled for August 10th; August 24th, 2011.
Motion by Mr. Bruce Young to adjourn the meeting at 5:45 P.M. Seconded by Mr. Mike Chernicki. Voted 3-0 in favor.
